Dell’s Axim X5 is pretty cool. I’ll put more stuff up eventually, but the most active user’s group I’ve found for it is: Recently purchased a Dell Truemobile 1180 Compact Flash lan card for this. Got it working fine with a Linksys router added onto our Win98 peer-to-peer network (internet with Direcway). Got it working pretty easily. I had thought I’d be able to use the CF card in my Gateway notebook (it has built in cf slot) but after much running around and frustration, I finally got from Dell that there are NO pc drivers available for this card - it only works on the Axim. (don’t know about other units) Bought an Ambicom cf GPS unit also from ebay but haven’t figured out how to use it. Will be running it witih Maptech’s Pocket Navigator. They had a PPC version that would use the maps from our PC version of their mapping software, which we already have for our surving business. |
